Unless I've somehow been really, really out of it, to my knowledge I only skipped one turn (two turns overall counting the one close to the start), so I don't think a rematch is necessary. I didn't play particularly well so honestly I don't think it would've made a difference, personian won fair and square in my opinion and I'm happy to accept the result.

Had no idea about the protocol of that missing-turn issue; it's probably written somewhere around here, my bad if so.

And I'm happy to replay the game, whatever. ;-)

I think that's about right--I think Bishmanrock might've missed up to a week of missed turns.  At first I didn't notice, but maybe 5 days ago I definitely noticed.

I suppose Bishmanrock himself can fill in the gaps of the story.

I knew he was skipping turns, I just assumed Bishmanrock lost time or interest--especially considering the surprise circumstances in which he found himself in this tournament.

I'm just upset I didn't see his message here saying he'd be gone--I could've disabled the turn timer.

Just a heads up I'm travelling to see family and friends this evening. I'll finish any turns I have outstanding before I leave but won't be able to take my turn all of Saturday and depending on timezones/when I return possibly a good part of Sunday too. I'll be back to normal by Sunday evening GMT

What happened I think is that you left the Tournament Player Pool, but the Player Pool is not the Tournament itself, it's just a player pool for all tournaments. So yes, you did not get any info because you left the place providing info... I have posted there at least every month and probably every week or two to update people on the tournament. The date of the tournament has always been visible on the tournament page, it was initially 15 January (you could see that hen you registered for it) and it was then moved to 31 January. The reason was explained several times in the Player Pool: getting v1.2 of the balance mod and testing it.

I don't know if I did something wrong or the website messed up or what. That said, seen as there's obviously been a lot of set-up work done here and I wouldn't want to ruin that, I'm happy to take part in order to not mess everything up. Hi! So after analysis of the scores, judges decided to award the victory to personian. The scores were tight but a battle on the last turn allowed him to take the lead.
In the future, please don't hesitate to contact judges by PM before the end of the match if the situation can be expected to be tight like this, so that we can take the best decisions possible (e.g. time extension).

Unless I've somehow been really, really out of it, to my knowledge I only skipped one turn (two turns overall counting the one close to the start), so I don't think a rematch is necessary. I didn't play particularly well so honestly I don't think it would've made a difference, personian won fair and square in my opinion and I'm happy to accept the result.

Had no idea about the protocol of that missing-turn issue; it's probably written somewhere around here, my bad if so.

And I'm happy to replay the game, whatever. ;-)

I think that's about right--I think Bishmanrock might've missed up to a week of missed turns.  At first I didn't notice, but maybe 5 days ago I definitely noticed.

I suppose Bishmanrock himself can fill in the gaps of the story.

I'll finish any turns I have outstanding before I leave but won't be able to take my turn all of Saturday and depending on timezones/when I return possibly a good part of Sunday too. What happened I think is that you left the Tournament Player Pool, but the Player Pool is not the Tournament itself, it's just a player pool for all tournaments. So yes, you did not get any info because you left the place providing info... I have posted there at least every month and probably every week or two to update people on the tournament. The date of the tournament has always been visible on the tournament page, it was initially 15 January (you could see that hen you registered for it) and it was then moved to 31 January. The reason was explained several times in the Player Pool: getting v1.2 of the balance mod and testing it.

Hi!
So, $eeR and Lck got a score malus for not providing the videos of the crash of $eeR and not communicating with judges (even sending the turn to personian without judges knowing). The issue lasted 19 days so the malus was applied over 19 days. As announced some months ago in the Tournament Player Pool, judges had agreed on score malus for each day of delay in a game. Those malus were applied, with a higher malus after 10 days of delay. As a consequence, the combined score of $eeR and Lck was reduced and, after this reduction, they lost by score to SleepingDog and personian.

This is quite sad that the game was decided by score because it didn't progress fast enough. It's even more sad that the victory is also decided by malus due to delays. Hopefully from now on, we won't have such issues in the 2vs2 Tourney...

@all: please update the class/race in the report.
@SleepingDog and personian: please get ready for next game and let's start it ASAP so that we are able to finish it.

Hi! It should be personian's turn now. @personian: please follow these instructions ASAP, we've already waited way too long for your game:
1/ AFTER the deadline, the strategic turn is played until the last player in the turn order
2/ that player plays his turn, saves & quits, copy the save game to a backup folder
3/ that player re-enters the game and surrenders, then takes screenshots of all the scores. He does NOT end the turn. Instead he quits the game without ending the turn.
4/ he sends the screenshots to judges (Marcus, Jonny and me)
5/ judges check the scores and take a decision

But why you where curious about the scores? We have expanding vs no expanding, not a surprise that you win by score.

I'm not sure if I got their races right. This was a very good game that could have gone on for much longer. I forgot to take a screenshot of the score.

Lightform and phirpo snowballed to become very powerful while personian and myself faded. Phirpo won a big battle against Lightform and the surrendered.

What happened I think is that you left the Tournament Player Pool, but the Player Pool is not the Tournament itself, it's just a player pool for all tournaments. So yes, you did not get any info because you left the place providing info... I have posted there at least every month and probably every week or two to update people on the tournament. The date of the tournament has always been visible on the tournament page, it was initially 15 January (you could see that hen you registered for it) and it was then moved to 31 January. The reason was explained several times in the Player Pool: getting v1.2 of the balance mod and testing it.

I'm going to be honest, I thought I marked as pulling out of the tournament ages ago - this is the first I've had anything about it to my email in months. I don't know if I did something wrong or the website messed up or what. That said, seen as there's obviously been a lot of set-up work done here and I wouldn't want to ruin that, I'm happy to take part in order to not mess everything up. I'll pop my details through shortly!

I wonder how the friendly interface made you go to the game's blog (which is hard to find once the game is reported) and then wrongly select "reactivate game".
But alright, asking Markymark to re-finish it since it seems I can't do it.

Hi! Ok SleepingDog, so you get no warning. However, the best would have been to do as I indicated: pause the game (remove the timer) and ask to judges what's best to do. And then you would in the end be able to play your turn instead of skipping it.

@Retromancer: why did you reactivate the game after reporting it?

Ok good! Happy to read that. Then you can report guys! @Bishmanrock: remember you have a 2nd game as it's double elimination.

Unless I've somehow been really, really out of it, to my knowledge I only skipped one turn (two turns overall counting the one close to the start), so I don't think a rematch is necessary. I didn't play particularly well so honestly I don't think it would've made a difference, personian won fair and square in my opinion and I'm happy to accept the result.

Had no idea about the protocol of that missing-turn issue; it's probably written somewhere around here, my bad if so.

And I'm happy to replay the game, whatever. ;-)

I think that's about right--I think Bishmanrock might've missed up to a week of missed turns.  At first I didn't notice, but maybe 5 days ago I definitely noticed.

I suppose Bishmanrock himself can fill in the gaps of the story.

When your opponent skips his turn, you have to come here and ask him and it is a good idea to notify the judges.

So you are telling us that he has been skipping turns for the past 7 days? So basically 6 turns or something like that?
I'm not sure what we should do, I'll discuss that with the other judges. Please do not report the game for now.

I knew he was skipping turns, I just assumed Bishmanrock lost time or interest--especially considering the surprise circumstances in which he found himself in this tournament.

I'm just upset I didn't see his message here saying he'd be gone--I could've disabled the turn timer.

Hum, you mean Bishmanrock skipped several turns and you beat him? You should have seen he skipped his turns, it's written in the email notifications you get when a new turn is ready, and also on the screen when you load the game... But Bishmanrock was away only 2 days and it was 1 week ago, so what happened?

Dammit.  Didn't check this battlefield site until now, and for some reason wasn't getting the usual emails from here.  Now the game's over. :-(  If you want a re-do, I'm ok with that.

Just a heads up I'm travelling to see family and friends this evening. I'll finish any turns I have outstanding before I leave but won't be able to take my turn all of Saturday and depending on timezones/when I return possibly a good part of Sunday too. I'll be back to normal by Sunday evening GMT

Just confirming the game has started. Unless I'm mistaken, there doesn't appear to be a time limit on turns. Not sure if that's intentional or a mistake, but thought I'd just mention it!
